Welcome back to our July edition of the KMT Download.
As I monitor the global markets, and most recently absorb China recording 0.8% growth, it got me thinking seriously about what makes a good business great and not only survive turbulent times, but THRIVE.
Many business leaders and owners I speak to, especially recently are experiencing varying levels of burn out. As we enter the later half of 2023, traditional concerns such as revenue growth, training and upskilling of staff and operational security (of course with a technology focus) are recorded as the top priorities for business leaders in the short to medium term. As they turn their focus to the top three challenge areas – Talent, Cyber Security and the Global Economy, I am having broader conversations to help our clients make their challenges more manageable.
Jim Collins in his book Good to Great mentions that some people settle too quickly for a life of comfort and settle too quickly, which is the enemy of achieving greatness. The same can be said for businesses. Indeed, the vast majority of businesses attain a level of adequate functionality, but instead of progressing beyond this point, they simply stagnate there. So how do we push past mediocrity to achieve true greatness? In our case, we adopted the EOS Operating Model.
In 2020 I wrote about KMT adopting the EOS Operating System and have updated the information recently to help you understand what it is and why businesses may like to consider it for themselves. EOS goes further than just helping businesses excel and now delves into how you can personally succeed as well.
I have just finished reading a fantastic book The EOS life! by Gino Wickman that will give you practical, real-world tools and insights to maximise your productivity, happiness and work-life balance.
